Crystal’s Weight Loss Journey

If you saw my blog on February 1st, 2017 then you know that I am participating in a “Biggest Loser” Weight Loss Challenge on Facebook. I promised transparency on this journey, right down to what I’m putting in my mouth, so this page is here so that I can see everything at a glance and so that¬†you can follow along with me without having to read every blog entry along the way. ūüôā My weight loss chart will be updated every Wednesday, because that’s when we weigh in for our challenge. Super Bowl Sunday 2/5/17

B: Coffee with hazelnut creamer and sugar, ABC egg white omelet (avocado-bacon-cheddar) with sour cream and salsa, 1 slice cinnamon raisin toast with butter, roasted potatoes with veggies, Young Living Weight Loss Trio in water (Lemon, Grapefruit & Peppermint EOs)

S: Baby arugala with a couple chunks of roasted butternut squash and a sprinkle of goat cheese

L: Thai veggie roll with peanut sauce, fresh veggies with about 1 Tbsp Ranch dip, 2 dark chocolate covered strawberries, strawberrries, blueberries, kiwifruit and pineapple

D: Grassfed pumpkin chili topped with cheese, sour cream and green onions

*This ended up being A LOT of calories but I did very VERY well considering how much deliciousness was at the Superbowl Party we attended!

Mon 2/6/17

S: 1/4 c. homemade unsweetened applesauce with cinnamon

Tues 2/7/17

B: Young Living Weight Loss Trio in water (Lemon, Grapefruit & Peppermint EOs), 1 boiled egg, 1 slice toast lightly buttered

L: Coffee with hazelnut creamer and sugar, ABC egg white omelet (avocado, bacon, cheddar, sour cream & salsa), 1 slice cinnamon raisin toast

D: Curry made with 3 oz chicken breast in coconut oil, 1/3 small potato, veggies, and 1/2 c. Maya Kaimal Butter Masala sauce, 2/3 c. white basmati rice. 1 drop Digize Vitality essential oil in veggie capsule with water.

I ate around 1,500 calories every day last week—except Super Bowl Sunday when I ate over 2,000. I only exercised one time, but I am still pleased with my results so far. ūüôā

Thurs 2/9/17

B: 2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water, 1 slice toast, 1 tsp raw butter, 1 slice pastured bacon, 1 pastured egg, 1 oz pepper jack cheese

L: 2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water, sandwich with 2 oz roasted chicken, 1 oz provolone, baby spinach, sliced tomatoes, avocado, 1 tsp mayo, and 2 tsp dijon mustard.

S: 1 apple sliced + 2 Tbsp peanut butter

D: Antipasto salad with ranch dressing using the “fork method.” (Dip fork into the ranch rather than drenching the whole thing in ranch.) And 4 slices of freshly baked bread with salted butter. It was a LOT more calories than I meant to eat, but oh well.

S: A few bites of chocolate hazelnut gelato. It was in front of me and I had to taste it. It was worth it.

Fri 2/10/17

B: 2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water, 1 slice pastured bacon, 2 pastured eggs, 1/2 an avocado, 1 oz pepper jack cheese, homemade salsa and 1 Tbsp sour cream

L: 2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water, a very large salad of fresh greens, cucumber slices, shredded carrots, baby tomatoes, vinaigrette and about 4 oz grilled chicken breast. 1 dinner roll with a tsp butter. And 9 pieces of dark chocolate. ACK!

S: Young Living lemon/grapefruit/peppermint in water, leftover antipasto salad

D: Grassfed burger with mayo, mustard, ketchup, pickles, onions, tomatoes, pepper jack cheese and wrapped in romaine lettuce. (No bun! That was hard to do at Pure Burger where they make their own artisan bread!)

S: 4 Thin Mint Cookies. Ugh, the little girls in front of Trader Joes got me.

Sat 2/11/17

B: 2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water, 2 c. coffee with hazelnut creamer and 2 packets of sugar, half of a Healthy Veggie scramble at Sunrise Cafe made with egg whites (turkey sausage, onions, spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, feta cheese) and a bowl of fresh fruit. 

L: 2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water. The rest of my egg white Healthy Veggie scramble.

I spent the entire day glued to my sewing machine working on little hats for Jeffrey bean’s class play, so no exercise and I didn’t stop to have any snacks. I was starving by the time dinner rolled around and Keith was in charge of dinner…so….

D: 2 slices of pepperoni pizza with lots of crushed red pepper, 3 bbq sauced chicken wings and 2 c. baby spinach with ranch (using the fork method again.) Water infused with Young Living lemon/grapefruit/peppermint vitality essential oils.

S: 1″ square of a chocolate chip brownie. TMI alert, but I just started PMS week and I am wanting all the chocolate. UGH! But it could have been worse. Last month I would have eaten like 3 brownies. Progress, not perfection. ūüėČ

Sun 2/11/17

B:¬†2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water. We ate at Lotus Cafe and Juice Bar in Encinitas where I ordered “two eggs as you like it” with a side of turkey sausage. I had 2 mugs of coffee with plain creamer and 3 packets of sugar, 2 scrambled eggs, 2 turkey sausage links (gave the 3rd to Jeffrey), roasted red potatoes and 1 slice sourdough with 1/4 pat of butter and a smear of strawberry jam. (I gave the rest to the kids.)

L: Chicken wrap in a flour tortilla with 1 tsp mayo, 2 tsp dijon mustard, 2 oz sliced chicken breast, 1 oz slice of provolone, handful of baby spinach, 1 tsp ranch dressing, and water infused with Young Living lemon/grapefruit/peppermint vitality essential oils.

Exercise: 82 minutes of Zumba at home with Kardio Kim! (I got 23 min into one and didn’t love the music so I started and completed the October 2012 one, which I love.)

D: 2 c. of homemade Easy Pumpkin Chili with grassfed beef and black beans. I topped it with 1/2 Tbsp sour cream, 1/2 oz shredded pepper jack cheese and a sprinkle of sliced green onions. I also had 1 oz of white corn tortillas chips, not pictured.

Mon 2/12/17

Weigh in #3 – 2/15/17

I went way over my 1,500 calorie goal on 4 different days so my average calories per day for last week was 1,871 and I only exercised two times. This was also my first week on Young Living’s Slique Citraslim supplement, and I must say, I am pleased with my results so far!

Thurs 2/16/17

B: 2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water. 55 g soyrizo with 1 egg cooked in 1 tsp avocado oil. 1 flour tortilla.

L: 2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water. Jumbo ABC egg white omelet with egg whites, avocado, bacon, cheddar, sour cream and salsa fresca. 1 English muffin with butter and strawberry jam. Coffee with a total of 4 hazelnut creamers and 4 sugar packets. (I know, I know.)

(I was PMSing and emotional and physically drained, so I took a long nap in the afternoon and woke up in the early evening. We ended up at The Yellow Deli in Vista for dinner.)

D: I had their Reuben sandwich, about a cup worth of their yummy kettle chips, and a bottle of Virgil’s microbrer root beer. I had to guesstimate calories, but it was worth it no matter how next week’s weigh in goes.

Fri 2/17/17

B: 2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water. I made breakfast burritos. 1 tortilla, 1 slice of applewood smoked bacon, 2 eggs, 2/3 c. hash browns and 1 oz pepper jack cheese. 8 oz glass orange juice + 1.5 tsp Truly Natural Vitamin C.

S: The kids’ school served coffee and we had some while we waited for Jeffrey’s play to start. I had mine with coconut milk and 2 raw sugar packets.

We were alerted that the Encinitas Whole Foods was shutting down and that everything was 50% off, so we spent our morning after the play there! It was crazy pants.

L: 2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water. 1 slice of pepperoni pizza, big chopped salad with Ranchm using the fork method. 4 sips of root beer.

It was raining and cozy and we had a fire going, so…

S: 1 1/2 cinnamon rolls. (I know, I KNOW.)

D: Keith made the kids dinner. I read a whole bunch and then had 2 slices of cinnamon raisin toast with grassfed butter late at night. Not a real meal. I am a hot mess PMS week, sorry.

Sat 2/18/17

B: 2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water. Coffee with total of 1/2 c. whole milk and 2 tsp sugar. 1 slice pastured bacon and veggie scramble with 2 eggs, onions, mushrooms, grape tomatoes and baby spinach.

L: 2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water. Smoothie with 1 banana, 3 oz baby spinach, 1 c. frozen mixed berries, 3 oz frozen pineapple chunks, 8 oz orange juice and 2 tsp Truly Natural Vitamin C.

D: Chicken Vindaloo (with potatoes) and 1 c. white jasmine rice. 4 drops Young Living Digize Vitality essential oil blend for digestive support.

Sun 2/19/17

B: 2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water. 2 mugs of coffee each with 1/4 c. whole milk and 1 tsp sugar. 1 English muffin + 1 egg + 1 slice bacon + 1 oz pepper jack cheese.

I spent my whole day from 7:30 a.m. until past 7 p.m. at a vendor event in San Diego with my Young Living essential oils. I brought my lunch in an insulated thermos and ate bites of it throughout the day when my table wasn’t crazy busy.¬†

S: Peppermint Vitality essential oil supplement to perk me up!

I got home past 8 p.m. and dinner was waiting for me.

Mon 2/20/17

L: 2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water.  Chicken Vindaloo with chicken breast and potatoes, 1 c. white jasmine rice.

S: Young Living “weight loss trio” water. 4 Thin Mints my friend brought me during our kids’ play date.

Thank God for lemon essential oil!

I was wiped after the play date and didn’t feel like cooking, and then Chloe got play slime/putty stuck in her hair. After I got it out we went to Chipotle for dinner.¬†

D: Chipotle bowl (almost the entire thing) with cilantro lime white rice, black beans, grilled chicken, salsa fresca, sour cream, cheese and guacamole. 2 chips with salsa.

S: Keith made cinnamon rolls and I ate one. So much sugar this week. Yikes.

Tues 2/21/17

B: 2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water. 1 mug of coffee with 1/4 c. whole milk and 1 tsp evaporated cane sugar. 1 hard boiled egg, 1 slice of toast with unsalted buter and most of 1 slice of bacon. (I accidentally burned it.)

S: Chai latte with coconut milk at Lush Lounge in Vista. I had a meeting with this beautiful soul I met a couple Fridays ago at a Lisa Nichols event, and I posted up with my iTOVi scanner. 

L: 2 Young Living Slique CitraSlim capsules with 8 oz water. The rest of my leftover chicken vindaloo with potatoes.

D: 2 c. vegetable beef stew that my parents made. Then an ice cream cone with cookies ‘n cream ice cream.

S: 1/2 a dark chocolate bar with hazelnut toffee

Weigh in #4 – 2/22/17

This was my second week taking Young Living’s Slique CitraSlim capsules. I ate many desserts this week and did not exercise once. I averaged 1,740 calories per day. I fully expected to register a gain being “that time of the month” and having gone way over my 1,500 calories/day most days, so losing 0.4 of a lb was a pleasant surprise!

Exercise: 10 min timed walk up and down my stairs. Better than nothing! It was a busy, busy day!

***Sun 4/2/17 Update***

Oh hi. This is kind of (ok, REALLY) embarrassing to share with y’all, but I didn’t stick to my plan…at all. ¬†After my last update I went out of town for a few days to learn NLP and¬†I ended up eating out a lot, not exercising at all and not taking my Slique capsules. ¬†Then March started. On the very first day of the month, our family pet hamster Luca died, the transmission in Keith’s work truck died and we got less than thrilling news on our taxes. This was all no bueno, and I resorted to stress eating and spiraling way WAY out of control. Even though I knew I’d make things worse for myself. But I was not thinking rationally.

Now it is April and I have no idea where I stand weight wise and I am scared to look because my clothes are not fitting well and I ate a stupid and embarrassing amount of chocolate in March. ¬†We also celebrated my birthday and Jeffrey’s birthday at Disneyland and ate a bunch of things we shouldn’t have.

I am in this unfortunate space of wanting desperately to make better choices but resorting to comfort food and not taking action, a horribly vicious cycle.

Today I took a step in the right direction though. ¬†We loaded up on fresh, organic fruits and veggies, including lots and lots of greens, and I even made homemade Ranch dressing so I am more apt to eat said veggies. I also made my grandma’s homemade salsa and a pico de gallo, to use on egg dishes in the mornings this week. ¬†I am taking baby steps towards wellness and when I am fully ready to commit I will update this section. (As I type this I feel like it’s a TOTAL cop out, but I am human, so please be gentle with me. This was not a fun thing for me to share with you.)
